Street and park plans for the Kortesmäki detailed plan area
Streets and trafficKalajärviEspoo’s Public Works Department has started preparing the street and park plans for the Kortesmäki (Kalajärvi II, eastern part) detailed plan area. The plans are related to the improvement of road safety in the area and the implementation of transport connections necessary for land use development in the area. The Technical Services Committee approved the plans on 12 June 2024.
Phase
Legally valid
The street plan will include building a stormwater sewer. The lateral ditches will be removed and drainage in the street area will be managed through the stormwater sewer. Once the stormwater sewer is completed and the municipality confirms that the area is a stormwater sewerage area, properties must be connected to the stormwater sewer (as per section 17b of the Water Services Act). If stormwater on the property is managed in another effective way (e.g. infiltration on the property or conveyance into a park area), the property owner can apply for an exemption from connecting the property to the stormwater sewer. The application must be submitted to the City of Espoo’s Environment and Building Control Department. (www.espoo.fi > search for ‘exemption stormwater). We ask property owners to inform us of their desired stormwater network connection point by 30.3.2024. You can send the information about the connection point to the project planner (peik.salonen@espoo.fi) in the form of a free-form map drawing, photograph or verbal description.
The draft plans can be viewed through the otakantaa.fi service. The website allows residents and interested parties to comment on the drafts for a period of two weeks 26.2.-10.3.2024. You can access the otakantaa.fi service through this link.(external link, opens in a new window)
After the draft plan stage, the street plan proposal will be finalised and made available for public review 22.4.-7.5.2024. The interested parties will be informed of the public review period separately by post.
