Renovation and extension of Tapiola swimming pool

BuildingTapiola

The aim of the renovation and extension of the swimming pool building is to maintain its unique appearance. The new extension is designed to match the look of the original building, so that the main pool area stands out from the building mass.

The architectural and cityscape-related values of the Tapiola swimming pool are taken into account and preserved in the design and implementation of the renovation and extension project.

The swimming pool consists of the original section completed in 1965 and an extension carried out in 2005. In addition, there is a separate diving pool and a children’s wading pool in the yard. Behind the wading pool there is a spectator stand.

All the swimming pool facilities and outdoor areas will be either renovated or partially rebuilt during the project.

The main pool area will be rebuilt to match its original appearance. The new structures will include a large pool, a small teaching pool, 3- and 5-metre diving platforms, and a permanent spectator stand with 350 seats.

The outdoor diving pool, wading pool, and spectator stand (sunbathing area) will also be rebuilt in accordance with the original design.

Construction preparation: May 2025

Estimated completion: Spring 2028
