On display: Vahtirinne

There will be roadworks to widen the street to 5.5 metres on certain sections to enable street-side parking. Pedestrian improvements will include a widening of the current pavement to 2.5 metres. At the end of the street, there will be a better connection to Helsinki for pedestrians and cyclists.

The solutions of the proposed plan do not impact the properties and plots on the street. There is room in the current street area for the planned solutions. Existing structures, planters and other similar features on the street area will be removed unless they have a placement or building permit.

People can read and comment the draft street plan between 1 and 15 September 2025 at the Otakantaa.fi website(external link, opens in a new window).

After the draft phase, the proposal for the final street plan will be made available for public review from 3 November to 17 November 2025. The parties concerned will receive a notice of the public review in the mail.
