The Oittaa outdoor recreation area is located in northern Espoo, on the shores of Lake Bodom. The area has good connections to Nuuksio National Park and Central Park. The Oittaa outdoor recreation area offers a variety of activities and things to do all year round.

Location

Kunnarlantie 33-39, 02740 Espoo

Oittaa’s ski trail network attracts amateurs, ski club members and professionals as soon as the first snow-covered trails open, and the season lasts well into early spring. You can also practice skiing with an instructor, whether you are a beginner or a skier working on your technique. There are ski trails of various lengths, from flat fields to trails built in challenging terrain.

During your outdoor activities, you can grill sausages in the hut or have lunch in the barn building. There is an equipment rental shop connected to the restaurant. You can expand your summer sports options by renting, for example, SUP boards, canoes, rowing boats, mountain bikes, children’s bicycles and frisbees.

During the summer season, Oittaa has a fitness track and fixed obstacles for outdoor enthusiasts and exercisers. The extensive outdoor trails take you all the way to Nuuksio and Luukki. There are also good hiking and cycling connections to Espoo Central Park.  A child-friendly nature trail runs near the nature reserve, close to the outdoor recreation centre.

The area’s beach is one of Espoo’s most popular beaches in the summer. The supervised beach and its vicinity feature showers, changing rooms, an outdoor gym, a popular themed playground, beach volleyball courts and a street basketball court. In winter, you can take a dip in the icy water and enjoy warm baths in the stone barn sauna.

A 45-hole disc golf centre has been built in Oittaa, consisting of three courses of different levels.
