Streets and trafficMatinkyläThe City of Espoo’s Public Works Department has begun the design process for the street areas of Komeetankuja, Komeetankatu, and Päivänkierto. The planning area also includes the pedestrian and bicycle paths along Olarinkatu, adjacent to Päivänkierto.

Design
The streets are located within the Kuitinmäki II and Komeetanrinne local detailed plan areas, as well as the planned Komeetanristi local detailed plan area.
The design process will address aspects such as traffic arrangements, pedestrian and cycling connections, parking, lighting, stormwater management, and the overall quality and comfort of the street environment.
The objective of the street plans is to integrate these street areas with the future development of the Komeetanristi local detailed plan area and to improve safe and smooth connections for various modes of travel.
The draft plans can be commented on via the otakantaa.fi service between November 30 and December 11, 2026.
The schedule for the construction of the streets will be determined as the planning process progresses.
