Streets and trafficLeppävaara

Espoo's urban engineering center has started preparing the street plan for Kilonportti street and the LP area. The Technical Services Committee approved the plans on 20 November 2024.

Location

Kilonportti

Phase

Legally valid

Kilonportti is an approximately 75-metre-long residential street with no through route for motor vehicles. The street is used by vehicles driving to and from the parking area and apartment building blocks 54074, 54164 and 54099.

In addition, pedestrians and cyclists can access Kilonpolku through the street. The street is paved with asphalt but has no kerbs, trees or other plants, and there is no turning area at the end of the street. The above-mentioned issues will be fixed by building the street in line with the street plan.

A public parking area (LP) will be built on the eastern side of the future turning area, including a space reserved for a recycling station. In addition to the above-mentioned street work, Kilonpolku (pedestrian and bicycle path) between Kilonportti and Kilonkartanontie will be renovated.

Kilonportti, the public parking area and Kilonpolku will serve the apartment building blocks along the street. The cross-sections of the streets and parking area will be well suited for the urban environment. The carriageways, public parking area and pedestrian and bicycle paths will be paved with asphalt. The kerbstones on Kilonportti and in the parking area will be made of granite. Plants will be added to the curb strips to offer shelter for the plots and to make the street environment greener and more pleasant. The carriageways and parking area will be equipped with lighting. The public parking area will include a space reserved for a recycling station.

Local residents can comment on the draft street plan on the Otakantaa.fi website(external link, opens in a new window) in 9.-23.9.2024.

The street and park plans will be available for public review from 7 October to 21 October 2024.

The Technical Services Committee approved the plans on 20 November 2024.
