The design is based on the winning entry in an international architecture competition. The intention is to offer facilities for academic and research activities, housing, organisations, and public and commercial services. The planning area includes the block opposite Aalto University’s Learning Centre (library) and the surrounding street and park areas. Proposal is available for public review 29.11. – 30.12.2021.

The plan is to increase the building density in the centre of Otaniemi, which is served by excellent public transport links. The aim of the amendment to the local detailed plan is to develop the surroundings of Aalto University’s metro station and the Jokeri Light Rail as part of the centre of Otaniemi.
