Espoo is a gem for lovers of coastal landscapes. The Espoon rantaraitti waterfront walkway offers a unique opportunity for recreation and outdoor activities along the coast of Espoo, stretching more than forty kilometres.

Along the walkway, you will find see coastal cliffs, nature reserves, modern built urban environments and old cultural buildings. There are several cafes and restaurants along the route. If the heat takes you by surprise, you can always take a dip!

The bridges along the walksay make it possible to travel along the coastal area both on foot and by bicycle.

During the summer season, the waterfront walkway also allows you to explore the diverse archipelago off the shore of Espoo. There are several archipelago marinas along the walkway, from which you can embark on refreshing nature trips. Places worth exploring along the waterfront walkway include Villa Elfvik Nature House with its nature trails, the Gallen-Kallela Museum in Tarvaspää(external link, opens in a new window), the Karhusaari recreation area and the Sinebrychoff villa built at the end of the 19th century. At Villa Rulludd in Hyljelahti, you can explore the old villa culture and summer holiday traditions.

The shore areas and marinas along the waterfront walkway have developed into popular leisure destinations, such as the Matinkylä-Nokkala and Haukilahti areas.

The waterfront walkway is partially accessible. Accessibility has been improved through electronic information(external link, opens in a new window). The Citynomad website(external link, opens in a new window) and mobile app provide additional information, including nearly a hundred interesting sites along the route.
