Detailed plan for moving the Miestentie intersection

Local detailed plansTapiola

The eastern end of Miestentie will be changed so that it connects directly to Kuusisaarentie instead of Otaniementie. The change will ease congestion on Otaniementie. In spring 2026, a decision was made to separate Kivikiila from 220213 Betonimies into a separate plan so that it can be developed faster. We currently estimate that the plan proposal will be available for public review in spring 2026.

Summary

The eastern end of Miestentie will be moved so that the road will connect to Kuusisaarentie instead of Otaniementie. This process will also involve improving the street. Pavements will be established on both sides. A bike lane is also planned for the north side. Moving the intersection will ease congestion on Otaniementie and improve traffic safety.

No changes will be made to the office block. The change in the detailed plan will update the plan to reflect the current situation. Exemptions already granted for buildings will be taken into account in the change.

Moving the street will also make it possible to design a new office building at the intersection between Otaniementie and Kuusisaarentie with a separate detailed plan.

Background information

The Kivikiila plan was previously available as part of the participation and evaluation plan of Kivimies (220209). After that, the plan was part of Betonimies (220213). Betonimies was returned to preparation on 5 December 2023.
