Construction of Finnsinmäki streets

Streets and trafficKauklahti

The contract includes the construction of the Kuninkaankartanontie between Lapinkyläntie - Kansanopistontie, Kaipuunkuja, Ryttarsinpelto, Ryttarsinhaka, Vanha Finnsintie, Kansanopistontie and Järvikyläntie between Kuninkaankartanontie - Hiekkabaana and Linus Sundellin tie and Linuksenpolku. It also includes the construction of the parking area adjacent to the Kuninkaankartanontie and Järvikyläntie intersection. The construction work will last until early summer 2023.

Project description

The construction project includes the construction of the existing streets Kuninkaankartanontie, Järvikyläntie and Finnsinmäki, as well as the light traffic routes Vanha Ryttarsintie and Vanha Finnsintie. The current Vanha Ryttarsintie will be turned into a light traffic route. In the southern part of the old Finnsintie, car traffic is allowed. New streets under construction are Kaipuunkuja, Ryttarsinhaka, Ryttarsinpelto, Kansanopistontie and Linus Sundellintie. The new light traffic route to be constructed is Linuksenpolku. Vanha Ryttarsintie and Vanha Finnsintie are marked in the town plan as historically and scenically valuable in nature, and its cross-section with open ditches will be preserved.

Construction includes the installation of water pipes, sewers, stormwater drains and casing pipes for electrical and telecommunications cables.  The construction of streets and municipal engineering requires, for example excavation, soil stabilisation and the construction of reinforced concrete piling and installation of pile slabs. A sewage pumping station will be built along Kansanopistontie.

A noise barrier will be built on the Lapinkyläntie section starting from the east of the Finnsinmäki intersection and continuing on Kuninkaankartanontie for about 230 m. The noise barrier is established on pipe piling and has a wooden frame and wood cladding.

To the south of Kuninkaankartanontie, a pedestrian and bicycle path will be built between Kansanopistontie and Lapinkyläntie. A public parking area will be built on the west side of the intersection of Järvikyläntie and Kuninkaankartanontie. Järvikyläntie will be constructed for about 50 meters at the intersection of Kuninkaankartanontie. A bus stop will be placed at the intersection of Järvikyläntie and Linus Sundellintie.

The Kansanopistontie will be constructed east of Vanha Finnsintie between Kuninkaankartanontie and Finnsintie.  A pedestrian and bicycle path will be built on the west side of the Kansanopistontie. A stormwater depression of about 200 meters long, will be built east of the Kansanopistontie. The depression is about 70 cm deep and the width varies. The waters of the stormwater drain to be built on Kansanopistontie will be directed to the depression.

Between Järvikyläntie and Hiekkarata, Linus Sundellintie, which goes around the Träskby school, and Linuksenpolku, which is a light traffic route, will be constructed. A sidewalk will be built on the western edge of Linus Sundellintie.

A lower pavement without kerbstone will be constructed on Kansanopistontie, Vanha Finnsintie, Ryttarsinpelto, Ryttarsinhaka and Linus Sundellintie. Pavements and bicycle paths will be left with a crushed rock surface. Green areas will not be implemented. These roads will be completed when the houses are ready.

Kuninkaankartanontie, Järvikyläntie, Vanha Ryttarsintie, Kaipuunkuja and Linuksenpolku will be completed. Roadsides are finished by sowing them into grass or meadows. Some areas of the roadsides are covered with bark mulch.
