Complementary construction in Maarinranta
Local detailed plansTapiolaThe aim of the amendment to the local detailed plan is to carry out complementary construction in the block. The area is located in Otaniemi, near the shores of Laajalahti bay, between Maarinranta’s park area and Otakaari. The complementary construction will bring more structure to the area’s design and improve it to meet the university’s needs. The planning will take into account the nearby Natura site and the living conditions of Otaniemi’s flying squirrels, to name a few elements. Furthermore, the amendment to the local detailed plan will factor in the objectives of building protection and the cultural environment. The plan has entered into force 24.11.2021.
