Plastic dreams - What will Peter Polymer grow up to be?
How do plastics differ from each other? Why is not all plastic sorted? What is the best approach to single-use plastics? And what plastic do you yourself resemble? The exhibition “Plastic Dreams” tells its audience about plastics and how to use them sustainably.
You know different species of trees and can tell wool from silk. How about different plastics? We use plastics every day, but few of us are familiar with the different types of plastic and their properties. The exhibition “Plastic Dreams” invites everyone to learn about plastics in depth and create a more constructive relationship with them.
The exhibition takes young Peter Polymer on a journey while he contemplates what plastic item he will become when he grows up. He dreams of a career where he would be valued and used for a long time, and at the end of which he would get a new job through recycling. Which career path would offer the best opportunities for a good life? We will also get to know Peter’s relatives: Patsy Packaging-Plastic, Ricky and Ryan Rigid-Plastic, Betty Plastic-Bottle, Cathy Disposable-Cup and Patrick Plastic-Bag: You can also take a light-hearted test to see which plastic you resemble the most.
The exhibition is created as part of the Closed Plastic Circle – from Pilots into Practice project, and the exhibition also showcases the project’s current measures to develop the circulation of plastics.
