Culture and Youth Committee decides on general grants for youth associations
At its June meeting, the Culture and Youth Committee decided on general grants for youth associations, cultural grants, and increases in the fees charged for the use of cultural venues.
The Culture and Youth Committee decided to award a total of EUR 139,600 in general grants to 50 youth associations. The grants range from EUR 500 to EUR 4,500 per association.
The committee decided to award a development grant of EUR 5,000 to Theatre Info Finland’s Baltic Drama Think Tank – Espoo 2026, as well as a total of EUR 19,700 in cultural event and project grants to five applicants.
The committee decided on increases in the fees charged for the use of cultural venues. The increases will mainly affect the venue rental fees for events held on weekdays. The average increase is approximately 5%. In addition, the committee decided on an increase in the price of admission tickets for the Exhibition Centre WeeGee and expanded free admission to include all visitors under the age of 21. Previously, free admission has been available to visitors under the age of 18. The prices will enter into force on 1 January 2027.
