Artist grants awarded to 22 artists
At its May meeting, the Culture and Youth Committee decided on cultural and artist grants.
The Culture and Youth Committee decided to award a total of EUR 49,300 in event and project grants to 11 applicants. Grants are awarded to art and cultural events, neighbourhood events and projects in Espoo that increase residents’ inclusion. In addition, a total of EUR 44,000 in development grants was awarded to three applicants.
A three-month artist grant was awarded to 22 applicants, who represent 11 different art forms. Each applicant received EUR 6,747.06, bringing the total amount to EUR 148,435.32. Grants were awarded to approximately 20% of the applicants.
In addition, the committee issued statements on the project plan for Saarnilaakson koulu and the connected youth centre, the council initiative concerning the membership card for Espoo’s youth centres, and the council initiative concerning the introduction of book exchange boxes.
