Seasonal products for swimming pools and gyms to be updated beginning on 1 January 2026
Swimming pools and gyms will be using the Get Active wristband, which provides affordable access to sports and exercise at times when sports and exercise facilities have more space available. The swimming and gym wristbands will be replaced by the Special exercise wristband and Special swimming wristband.
The Get Active wristband will supplement the existing product range, with the aim being to lower the threshold for people to go to swimming pools and gyms.
The new Get Active wristband can be purchased by persons eligible for discounted prices, i.e. unemployed persons, students, conscripts, pensioners, special groups and children 7-17 years of age.
The Get Active wristband will provide access to the city’s swimming pools and outdoor swimming pool as well as open gyms on weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and weekends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The wristband costs €66 and is valid for 120 days.
The price, granting criteria and application process of exercise wristbands for special groups will change
The swimming and gym wristband for special groups will become the Special exercise wristband and Special swimming wristband on 1 January 2026. There is no separate application process, but the wristband can be purchased directly at swimming pools.
It will be possible to swim and go to the gym using the Special fitness wristband. The wristband may be granted to Espoo residents with a significant disability caused by a permanent long-term illness or disability. The disability can be verified with a visual impairment card, an EU Disability Card, or a parking card or permit for persons with reduced mobility.
As its name suggests, a Special swimming wristband only grants access to swimming pools. It can be purchased with certain Kela card codes listed on the Special fitness wristband webpages. The codes are the same as those used to purchase a swimming wristband for special groups at swimming pool cashiers prior to the update.
The Special fitness wristband and Special swimming wristband are valid for one year from the date of purchase. The price of a Special fitness wristband is €60, while the price of a Special swimming wristband is €41.50.
Both wristbands still include the friend benefit, which allows the holder to bring along an adult friend free of charge. In addition, the holder may bring along an assistant free of charge if the need for an assistant is indicated on the approved certificate.
The update is based on the need to systematically and equally arrange adapted exercise services and benefits, reduce data protection risks and ensure the protection of privacy.
