Culture and Youth Committee decided on cultural grants
At its second autumn meeting, the Culture and Youth Committee decided to award a total of EUR 96,600 in event and project grants and a total of EUR 59,000 in development grants. In addition, the committee confirmed its meeting schedule for spring 2026.
The Culture and Youth Committee decided to award event and project grants ranging from EUR 3,600 to EUR 10,000 to 15 different cultural organisations, totalling EUR 96,600. Grant recipients include, among others: & Espoo Theatre for its international Learning to Disagree festival to be held in spring 2026, the Helinä Rautavaara Museum for a concert series showcasing world music traditions, and Sairaalaklovnit ry, which organises clown visits to elderly people with memory disorders.
The committee also decided to award development grants to five cultural organisations, totalling EUR 59,000. The largest grants were awarded to: EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art for the redesign of its visitor engagement strategy, and the Finnish Museum of Horology and Jewellery Kruunu for developing an operational model for preserving the intangible cultural heritage of the watch and jewellery industry.
