The City of Espoo is selling an old school building in Nuuksio through an open bidding competition. The building will be sold to a company, community or other entity for use allowed by the master plan. This includes private school, early childhood education, and social welfare activities. The historically valuable building will be sold to the highest bidder with the most suitable business plan.

The school was built in 1951 and used until the summer of 2022, after which the building has stood empty. The gross floor area of the building is 760 square metres. The building includes the actual school facilities and a teachers’ housing wing. The building requires renovation.

The building is historically valuable and cannot be demolished. Any modifications must be discussed in advance with the Espoo City Museum.

The building is sold with a leasehold right. The area of the plot to be leased is approximately 10,000 square metres. The property is located in a master plan area designated as an area for public services and administration.

The old school building is located in a beautiful area surrounded by nature. The Hista station, which is being planned as part of the West Railway project, will be about two kilometres from the property.

The City of Espoo seeks to sell properties that it no longer needs. Two bidding competitions for the building were organised last year, but no bids were submitted.

All bidders must participate in a showing before making a bid. Showings will be held on 12 August (9:00–12:00), 15 August (11:00–14:00),1 September (10:00–13:00) and 5 September (11:00–14:00), and participants must sign up in advance. Bids must be submitted by 12:00 on 31 October 2025.

The decision on the sale of the building and the leasing of the land will be made by the Business and Competitiveness Subcommittee of the City Board.
