Combine the archipelago atmosphere and cycling in Espoo – experience the archipelago route for cyclists in July
The route runs from 1 July to 3 August 2025.
We have combined the unique Espoo archipelago and shoreline to make a whole summer experience. On the archipelago route for cyclists, cyclists can bike in one direction along the Espoo Waterfront Walkway and take an archipelago boat in the other direction.
The boat runs between Otaniemi and Kivenlahti and stops at Nokkala in Matinkylä. Passengers can bring their bikes aboard the boat.
The route is perfect for day trips: there is a total of 30 kilometres to bike between Otaniemi and Kivenlahti and the archipelago boat journey takes less than two hours. By varying the length of the cycling route and the boat’s embarkation point, you can easily customise the route to meet your own needs and those of your fellow cyclists. You can also choose whether to start the route in the saddle or on a boat.
This summer, the archipelago route for cyclists will be offered for the fourth time.
“This is a truly unique way to experience the Espoo archipelago and by cycling, you get to explore the entire length of the Waterfront Walkway.
