Exhibition Centre WeeGee's new WeeGee Live concept expands its event offering by bringing outdoor concerts to WeeGee’s renewed front courtyard.

The outdoor event WeeGee Live brings the pulse of music and the spirit of summer directly to the renewed courtyard of the WeeGee Exhibition Centre. Look forward to three free outdoor concerts that invite people of all ages to enjoy live music, a vibrant atmosphere, and sunny summer days.

Mark your calendar with summer’s top Saturdays: May 17th, June 14th, and August 16th. Delicatessen WeeGee will provide delicious food and drinks from their terrace and extended licensed area, with fantastic views of the stage. It’s easy to combine the event with a visit to WeeGee's museums: EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, the City Museum KAMU at WeeGee, and the Futuro House. The newly refreshed green courtyard includes a sculpture park and a playground – a perfect spot to relax. Welcome to spend your summer with WeeGee Live!

Summer opening 17.5.

In May, performances feature Poni, Vera Wall, and Younghearted. Opening act Poni fearlessly explores uncharted waters with gritty guitars and danceable rock rhythms – a taste of their upcoming full album in fall 2025. Next, Vera Wall blends pop and indie with deeply personal lyrics and an emotional performance style that resonates with audiences. The day concludes with beloved pop trio Younghearted, known for their acoustic sound and unforgettable live energy.

The event is organized by Exhibition Centre WeeGee and KAMU Espoo City Museum. The Finnish rock and pop theme ties into KAMU’s new exhibition Feel the Noise - Rock and Youth Culture in Espoo Exhibition.

Pride 14.6.

June's Pride-themed event will feature Elsi Sloan, Knife Girl, and Tuure Boelius. Elsi Sloan is a young queer musician and actor, whose music is delicate, powerful, and politically charged. Her debut album Pakko muuttua was released in 2023. Knife Girl is the evolving project of musician Lili Aslo, whose 2023 hyperpop-tinged electronic album explores sexuality, gender identity, and the impact of hormone therapy. Tuure Boelius brings boundless energy and charisma – his live shows are must-see.

In addition to music, Selkokulttuuri ry will host a rainbow-themed storytime in plain Finnish for the whole family. EMMA will also offer a queer-themed guided tour focusing on gender and sexual diversity in its current exhibitions.

Jazz picnic 16.8.

In August, it’s time for jazz in a picnic setting. A lawn will be rolled out on WeeGee’s courtyard – bring your picnic blanket!

Trumpeter-composer Verneri Pohjola has developed a unique musical voice over the past two decades. His sound radiates warmth, calm, and expressive improvisation. Helsingin Sanomat describes him as “Finland’s most emotionally intelligent trumpeter.” Kaisa Mäensivu, a rising star in Finnish jazz, performs with her ensemble Kaisa’s Machine – her outlet for realizing a bold musical vision. Selma Savolainen, winner of the 2024 Emma Gala’s Jazz Emma award, closes the day with her band Horror Vacui. Known for her fearless creativity and powerful voice, Savolainen’s English-language compositions blend modern jazz with alternative singer-songwriter styles.
