Uskalla Yrittää event brings hundreds of young entrepreneurs to Sello on Wednesday 5 March 2025
Finland’s largest youth entrepreneurship event and competition arrives at Sello on Wednesday, 5 March. At the Uskalla Yrittää regional event in Uusimaa, young entrepreneurs will compete for a place in the national final while showcasing and selling their products and services.
The sales event will be open to the public at Sello from 10.30 to 14.30, featuring 136 training companies established by young entrepreneurs. These JA Companies have been created as part of the JA Company program.
The event kicks off at 10.00 at Sellonaukio, with the opening speech delivered by Fadumo Ali, CEO and Espoo’s Entrepreneur of the Year 2022.
Throughout the day, Sellonaukio will host a sales pitch competition from 10.30 to 13.30, where young entrepreneurs will passionately present their business ideas. The Uskalla Yrittää awards ceremony will take place at Sellonaukio from 14.45 to 15.15.
Twelve of the best companies from different categories will be selected from the Uusimaa event to compete in the Finnish finals in April. From there, finalists have the opportunity to represent Finland at the Gen-E European competition(external link, opens in a new window).
Showcasing young innovation and entrepreneurial skills
Supporting youth entrepreneurship is part of the City of Espoo’s economic development efforts, aimed at promoting sustainable business and regional innovation capacity.
"Entrepreneur-friendly Espoo is an excellent place to grow, develop, and experiment with new ideas. It’s fantastic that young people can practise entrepreneurial skills while still in school," says Marika Lostedt, Head of Business Development Services, City of Espoo.
Several JA Companies from Espoo’s upper secondary schools and Omnia will be participating in the event, presenting creative and innovative business ideas. The young entrepreneurs will showcase a variety of products and services, including innovative food items and wellbeing solutions designed to simplify everyday life.
