The City of Espoo Culture Committee wants to support participatory cultural events, cultural wellbeing projects, and the activities of professional arts and cultural communities in Espoo.

At its June meeting, the committee decided to allocate more funds (an appropriation increase of about 10%) for project grants in 2024. With the additional funds, Espoo will be able to support more art and cultural projects that will enliven the city and engage more people.

Project grants are awarded in accordance with the current grant principles. Events and projects that receive support from Espoo should boost the diversity and openness of the city. Applicants should consider how they can increase the appeal, visibility and effectiveness of their project together with their cooperation partners.

You can now also apply for grants for next year’s (2025) projects and events.

The application deadline is 2 September 2024 at 15:45. Grant applications are submitted online. We will make decisions on the applications by the end of October 2024 and inform each applicant of the outcome of their application by email.

Please read the application instructions and the terms and conditions of grants carefully. You can visit our website to see what kind of projects have received grants in previous years. There is also a Frequently Asked Questions section.

We will hold a Cultural Grants Clinic open to all on Tuesday 20 August, 17:00–18:30, at Iso Omena Library (Suomenlahdentie 1). At the event, we will provide information and advice on the City of Espoo’s cultural grants and the application process. We can also help you with your application. No registration needed. Welcome!
