Program

CITY ROBOTS AND TEXTILE

Get to know the new city robots! Dimalog Robot cleans surfaces from stains and Contai Robot helps garbage collectors by moving waste bins to more accessible pickup spots.

GET A GRIP ON PLASTIC - PLASTIC WORKSHOP

In the plastic workshop, you can take plastic and change into your own hands: at the workshop, recycled plastic is processed from garbage into raw material and from raw material into finished products, such as art and utility objects or jewelry. Plastic is crushed, melted, pressed into molds, ironed and braided. You can also invent and try your own new ways of working with plastic!

You can bring your own clean polypropylene to the workshop to be worked on, but you can also arrive there empty-handed. You recognize polypropylene by the PP 05 triangle stamp, which is usually found on the bottom of the product.

Muoviverstas will continue its action at the same location until July 7th.

CLOTHING SWAP

Bring your useless clothes into use and make bargains on other people’s clothes.

You can change good-conditioned adult and children clothes at clothing exchange point for free. Sort the clothes that you bring by size. You can also take clothes that are brought to the point even if you do not bring clothes for exchange yourself.

Timetable for clothing exchange

4 - 6 pm you can bring and take clothes

6 - 7 pm you can only take clothes not bring

After the event we will donate the remaining clothes to the Recycling Center, bad-conditioned clothes we will deliver to the clothing waste collector.

KORJAUSHAASTE

FINIX - sustainable textile systems

-research project's #repairchallenge(external link, opens in a new window) encourages everyone - more or less enthusiastic about handicrafts - to extend the life of their clothes and reduce the environmental burden of textiles by sharing the best repair tips on social media.

The event will have experts and a selfie point where you can find frames and repair tools. So bring along the clothes you've repaired or even slightly damaged clothes and share a photo of the end result on social media with the hashtag #korjaushaaste(external link, opens in a new window). The most interesting repair and tuning jobs will be rewarded with products from the project's partners, and an exhibition will be put together about them. The material can be used in Aalto University's research.

MENDING CLOTHES

Espoo Mending is an ecological repair sewing shop in Kauklahti. Ompelimo specializes in repairing, modifying and modernizing clothes while respecting the environment. The world is full of clothes - let's use them!

In the workshop, you will learn how to repair clothes and extend their useful life.

This is how it works:

Bring worn clothing with you and have it repaired on the spot.

The workshop offers material and accessories for the most common repairs.

You can also bring a garment in need of modification to the display and hear how it is possible to modify it.
