Espoo’s welfare and health services have increased the number of self-registration machines
The printout produced by the self-registration machine will guide the client to the correct waiting area. The professional will also be able to see in real time who has arrived and call clients into the appointment room more flexibly.
Self-registration machines are now available at the Leppävaara, Tapiola, Samaria, Kivenlahti and Matinkatu health centres and most city-run dental clinics. Espoo’s first family centre also has a self-registration machine. Self-registration has previously been possible at some of Espoo’s dental clinics and at the Iso Omena Service Centre, library and maternity and child health clinic.
How does self-registration work?
When you arrive at, for example, a health centre, dental clinic or maternity and child health clinic, you must register for your appointment. The printout produced by the machine will guide you to the correct waiting area. If you are on the wrong floor, the printout will ask you to go to the correct location and re-register. The professional you came to see will be informed of your arrival and will be able to call you into the appointment room more flexibly.
You will be called in by the number on your printout instead of your name, which ensures your privacy.
You can use the self-registration machine in Finnish, Swedish and English.
How to use the self-registration machine
- Show the barcode of the client’s Kela card, driving licence or identity card to the self-registration machine.
- You will receive a printout with the number by which you will be called into the appointment room. The printout will also guide you to the correct waiting area.
- Find the correct waiting area and wait for your turn.
- When it is your turn, the information display on the wall of the waiting area will show the number on your printout and the number of your appointment room.
Please remember to:
- register on the floor where your service provider is located;
- read carefully through the printout provided by the self-registration machine; the printout contains important information, such as the correct waiting area.
