Sustainable growth and vitality is built in cooperation

In the middle of the urban innovation hub of Keilaniemi soars Accountor Tower – one of the most famous landmarks of Keilaniemi and perhaps Espoo as a whole. It is home to Accountor, a company providing financial and HR management software and services, which has partnered with the City of Espoo for the annual conference of the Eurocities network in June 2022.
The City of Espoo and Accountor have many things in common – one of them being a pioneering attitude. Both organisations want to develop their operations in a curious, creative and bold manner.
“Since Accountor is a trailblazer in in the financial administration sector, it is important to us to keep up with the times. We cooperate closely with the central government and many Finnish cities, and we also want to support the Eurocities network,” says President and CEO of Accountor Niklas Sonkin.
Accountor is the City of Espoo’s partner for the annual conference of the Eurocities network, which will be held on 8–10 June 2022 in Espoo. The annual conference is the most important event of the year for the European network for large and medium-sized cities and a massive effort for Espoo.
“An event of this scale would be difficult to organise without committed and enthusiastic partners. I believe that with a common goal we can achieve our best. “This year, we are also celebrating Espoo’s 50th anniversary as a city, and together with our key partners, we will be showing our guests the best that Espoo has to offer. Organising the annual meeting is also a boost for Espoo’s business community,” says Espoo’s Head of International Affairs Milla Ovaska.
It is also important to Accountor to extend a helping hand to others.
“Accountor’s home is Espoo’s iconic office building – currently Accountor Tower – which was a pioneering project at the time of its completion in the 1970s. We have very tight and efficient collaborative relationship with the City of Espoo, and it has been our goal from the start to be a vital part of the Keilaniemi community. We are more than happy to open our doors to serve as a venue for the Eurocities conference,” Sonkin says.
Eurocities is the most important European city network for Espoo. Eurocities supervises EU’s interests, produces information on EU funding applications and legislation and acts as a peer learning platform for its member cities. The conference has been prepared in cooperation with partners building cities of the future. View all partners of the conference: eurocities2022.eu/partners(external link, opens in a new window).
