Young people’s guardians in Espoo are invited to remote events on 5–13 April. The events will focus on young people’s mental wellbeing and how to support it.

The local events for guardians in Espoonlahti, Leppävaara, Matinkylä-Olari, Tapiola, Central Espoo and Northern Espoo will include presentations from experts and thoughts on how the local young people are doing and how we can support their mental wellbeing together. The event organisers also wish to hear comments, questions and wishes from the guardians.

The events will be held remotely via Teams, and they do not require advance registration. The presentations will be in Finnish, but simultaneous interpretation into Arabic, English, Somali and Russian will be offered during each event. You can find detailed information and the participation links at the end of this article.

Mental wellbeing consists of multiple factors

At the guardians’ events, we will go through the local results of the school health survey and hear presentations from operators that offer services and leisure activities. The events are aimed at the guardians of young people in grades 7–9 of comprehensive school or in upper secondary school.

"A young person needs a community to belong to and reliable adults in their life. Wellbeing consists of multiple factors, of course, but no one can make it alone. In addition to activity groups and the home, the school is an important community where every child and young person should feel comfortable,” says Harri Rinta-aho, Deputy Mayor for Growth and Learning.
