JuuriJuhla folk music festival 3–9 April

JuuriJuhla–RotFest folk music festival will be held in Espoo on 3–9 April. This will be the 20th time the festival is organised.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Espoo as a city, a cavalcade of Espoo folk music will be played at Sello Hall on 7 April. The concert will feature performances by Kardemimmit, Poskatroikka, PolePole, Espoon pelimannit and the JuuriJuhla festival orchestra.

Performers such as Pauanne, Aija Puurtinen & Brooklynin satu, Antti Paalanen and ENKEL will take the stage at other Sello Hall concerts.

On 4 April, the PolskaPandolfi concert will fill Espoo Cathedral with baroque music and polka played by baroque violinist Kreeta-Maria Kentala and harpsichordist Tea Polso. Folk music groups from Pakila Music Institute, Käpylä Music Institute and Juvenalia Music Institute will perform at the Melkutus concert on 3 April.

The Pilpatus concert held on 9 April at the Iso Omena library will include performances by Leikarit, Vantaan pelimannit and Kesäpelimannit. On 6 April, for the first time in ages, there will also be dancing in the Sello Hall foyer, accompanied by Espoon pelimannit and Elina Sauri!
