Pihlajalinna to provide Espoo’s outsourced health centre services as of 1 January 2022

“The outsourced health centre is part of the multi-provider model based on the Espoo Story. Pihlajalinna has extensive experience of providing public social welfare and health services, and I believe that the quality of services offered in Matinkylä will remain high,” says Markus Paananen, Espoo’s Director of Health Services. “We have been planning the opening of the health centre in good cooperation, and our goal is to ensure a smooth transition for the clients.”

“We provide a high-quality doctor-nurse appointment service using a new team model. It ensures quick access to health centre services. Digital services in the form of remote appointments will be part of the health centre’s services. Clients who need a longer care relationship will have their own contact person,” says Riia Siivikko, Regional Director for Pihlajalinna Uusimaa.

The health centre will operate at Piispanportti 10, on the 5th floor. It is the same building where the current outsourced health centre is located, but the floor will change. The name of the outsourced health centre has not yet been decided.

The outsourced health centre operations were put out to tender as the agreement with Oma Lääkärisi Matinkylä ended. Pihlajalinna was the winner of the tendering process. The Espoo residents for whom Oma Lääkärisi Matinkylä has been responsible will automatically become Pihlajalinna’s clients. The clients to whom this change applies will receive a letter to their home address later this year.

There are eight health centres in Espoo as well as two private clinics for service voucher clients in the Espoon keskus area and one outsourced health centre in Matinkylä.
