Starting in November, Kilo health station will be testing a new team model. You will receive services quicker, as experts from different fields will be working together to resolve your case. If you are receiving several different services, you will be appointed your own contact person. You will also be able to access services remotely, from the first time you make contact.

Starting in November, Kilo health station will be testing a new team model. You will receive services quicker, as experts from different fields will be working together to resolve your case. If you are receiving several different services, you will be appointed your own contact person. You will also be able to access services remotely, from the first time you make contact.

The new team model means that experts from several fields will work on your case together. A team may include a doctor and a nurse, and perhaps a physiotherapist, dental hygienist, social worker, practical mental nurse or an expert of services for the elderly. Teams are put together according to the type of treatment and help that you need.

With support from the team, your case can be resolved faster and you might not even need to come to the health centre in person.

‘Previously, health care services have focused heavily on appointments, whereas now we will begin assessing your situation together during your first call,’ says project manager Krista Valtonen.

Contact persons appointed to people who use a lot of services

Valtonen believes that many people may be surprised when matters are resolved faster than before. Moreover, the team model offers another benefit, requested by many: if you use a lot of services, a contact person who will be familiar with your situation will be appointed for you. This means you do not have to keep repeating the same things to every new service provider.

At the start of next year, it will be Iso Omena health station’s turn to test the team model. After the pilot, we will share its good practices with others in Western Uusimaa.
