Maternity and child health clinics’ services as of 20 October 2021

Please remember that you are only allowed to visit a maternity and child health clinic if you are in good health. Take care of hand hygiene when you enter and leave the clinic. Wear a face mask throughout your visit.

We still ask you not to bring many people with you to help everyone maintain safe distances in our waiting areas. On premises visited by social welfare and health care clients and patients, it is important to minimise possible exposures and infections for the sake of both clients and staff.

Influenza vaccinations start on 1 November 2021. Vaccination appointments at maternity and child health clinics can be booked online as of Monday 25 October. This year, our clinics mainly offer vaccination appointments on Saturdays. You can also get the vaccine in connection with another clinic appointment.

Please note that the guidelines issued by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on who gets the influenza vaccine free of charge have changed since last year. Maternity clinic appointments during pregnancy will be arranged in line with the normal schedule, with the exception of the first doctor’s appointment at week 17–18 of pregnancy which is offered if needed. The first appointment after childbirth primarily takes place at the clinic.

Periodic health checks for 0–1-year-old children will be carried out as usual.

Appointments with a public health nurse can be booked for children aged 2 and 5 if necessary. These appointments can only be booked by calling the clinics’ telephone service, tel. +358 9 81622800 (Mon–Fri 8:30–13:30).

For other children, appointments can be booked according to the normal health check schedule and depending on the availability of appointments.
