My Home Municipality Espoo: information events for Ukrainians
We will hold information events at the Iso Omena Service Centre to provide information on a person’s right to a municipality of residence in Finland. At these events, we will also tell you about the services available in Espoo.
Моє рідне місто Еспоо: інформаційні заходи для українців
People who have fled the war in Ukraine can apply for a municipality of residence after living in Finland for one year. Having a municipality of residence gives you the right to obtain various services but there are also some obligations. Applying for a municipality of residence is voluntary.
Our information events are intended for people who have fled the war in Ukraine and arrived in Finland during the spring of 2022. We want to provide information on the right to a municipality of residence to people who already live in Espoo or wish to live here.
The information events take place at the Iso Omena Service Centre in Matinkylä on Thursdays from 12:00 to 16:00 (address: Suomenlahdentie 1).
The events will be held in Ukrainian, but we will also use other languages where necessary.
Our events will focus on services for adults or services for children, young people and families, on an alternating basis. The content of the events is always the same. The only exception is the Hello Espoo event that will be held in Espoonlahti on 9 March 2023.
We welcome all future Espoo residents to our events!
