Keilaniemi – high tech and business hub

Situated by the sea, Keilaniemi is a well-known hub of high tech, innovations and business. The area is easy to reach by metro, light rail and car.

Keilaniemi boasts a significant number of large listed companies and promising start-ups. It is home to the head offices of many large international companies, such as Kone, Neste, Valmet, Fortum, Tieto and Fiskars. Almost half of the trading done on the Helsinki Stock Exchange is for companies from the Keilaniemi area.

In the area, there are approximately 8,000 jobs and the number is expected to grow to 11,000 by 2050. Keilaniemi is currently known as a business area but it will have more services and will have population of 3,000 in the future.

The journey from the Helsinki Central Railway Station to Keilaniemi takes 10 minutes by metro. Helsinki-Vantaa airport is located one hour away by metro and train, while a car ride takes about 25 minutes. The nearest city centre, Tapiola, is only 6 minutes away by metro. The light rail ride to Otaniemi, the home of Aalto University, takes four minutes and to Leppävaara 16 minutes.
