Plot draw 2026

The City sells and leases detached house plots for self-build projects through public application procedures. Detached house plots are primarily allocated through an annual plot draw. Information about plot applications is published on this website as well as on social media and in newspaper advertisements.

Application period and plots

The City of Espoo sells and leases detached house plots for self-build projects through plot draw. The plot draw will be in autumn 2026, a total of 53 plots are planned to be allocated. Basic information on the plots is available via the following links:

The application period begins on 1 October and ends on 2 November at 13:00.

More detailed brochure materials, as well as information on the application procedure and how to submit an application, will be available on this website no later than the start of the application period. Plots can be applied for through the plot draw service while the application period is open. The City will allocate plots in the following districts (local detailed plan areas): Perusmäki (Gobbacka) 33 plots, Espoonkartano (Mynttilä) 4 plots, Vanttila (Hepmortinrinne) 3 plots, Kurttila (Kallvik I) 3 plots, Henttaa (Lillhemt) 2 plots, Latokaski (Kaskihaka) 2 plots, Kalajärvi (Kalajärvenkallio) 2 plots, and Laaksolahti (Laaksolahti–Jupperi), Viherlaakso (Viherlaakso), Perusmäki (Kalliomäki) and Kalajärvi (Alaniemi) 1 plot each, making a total of 53 plots.

Plot recipients can choose whether to buy or lease the plot. A tenant has the right to purchase the plot during the lease period. The lessor determines the sale price separately.

The autumn 2026 detached house plot draw is based on the decision of the City Board’s Economic Development and Competitiveness Subcommittee on 1 June 2026 § 61 (external link, opens in a new window)(in Finnish).

In the plot draw service(external link, opens in a new window), you can browse plots and participate in the draw starting from 1 October 2026 at 9:00, not earlier. The application period ends on 2 October 2026 at 13:00. Add one or more plots to your cart and submit your application by filling in the applicant’s details. Arrange the plots in numerical order so that the plot you prefer most is number 1, and so on.

In the draw, priority is given to applicants living in Espoo, i.e. those whose municipality of residence according to the Population Information System has been Espoo since 1 January 2026.

The application process is electronic, and plots are allocated based on a draw and the order of preference indicated by applicants, taking into account the eligibility criteria. The announcement of the plot draw results is planned for 2–6 November. After the draw, the selected applicants will be notified of their plot reservation. Those who receive a reservation must pay a processing and reservation fee (€2,000), which will be sent to the recipient’s home address. If a recipient withdraws from the reservation, the fee will not be refunded.

Before submitting an application, it is advisable to carefully review the application materials, as well as the information and characteristics of the plots, and to ensure financing for construction.
