City planning in Matinkylä
Matinkylä is a versatile and diverse hub of services and excellent public transport connections.The greater Matinkylä area includes Matinkylä, most of Olaria, Henttaa, a part of Sepänkylä and Kuurinniitty as well a part of Latokaski. Suurpelto, which is located in Henttaa with its northerns parts in Kuurinniitty and Sepänkylä, is developing the most. Nygrannas is a part of Mankkaa.
Matinkylä and Olari have been most actively complemented through the planning and construction of the metro station. An urban centre will form around the metro station in Matinkylä. There is a smaller, complementary service centre in Suurpelto. A third smaller service centre is the Kuitinmäki shopping centre and nearby area.
The cultural history values of the Matinkylä and Olari suburbs have been recognised and we will attempt to preserve them as complementary construction takes place.
