Future Stories events
Future Stories is a series of events by Espoo’s Event and Culture Services, and it is built around themes related to sustainable development. The goal of the event series is to address climate anxiety through art. It is organised together with city residents and external partners.
The Future Stories event concept offers fun things to do throughout the summer across Espoo. Choose the events you like or participate in them all.
The events are described on the website of Espoo’s culture houses, and they are also gathered on this website. This information will be complemented.

Fern Orchestra: Plant jam session
Interested in a green bath or plantification?
In the hugely popular plant jam session you can play instruments and dance with green plants. Find the plant instrumentalist in you and play Paranoid on the snake plant. Sensors attached to the plants measure the plants’ vital functions, and the measurement result is translated into sound. What do plants sound like when they are touched and sprayed? Vespa Laine, Markus Heino and Saara Isola as well as plants will be jamming along with Fern Orchestra.
Croquis sketch drawn by your own plant!
Bring your own plant, bring it to Fern Orchestra’s greenhouse and sit down as a model for your plant. What do you look like to your plant? The data collected by the sensors attached to the plant is sent to the plotting device, and you get a portrait of yourself.
Fern Orchestra’s greenhouse is open
