On this page you will find information about the City of Espoo's Culture Path for Upper Secondary Education and the services it offers to upper secondary school and vocational school students in Espoo. The Culture Path's art and cultural experiences are free of charge for schools and students. Booking instructions can be found separately for each content. The services to be booked for the school year 2024-2025 will be announced in August 2024.

EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art: a recording and an independent visit to the museum
With the upper secondary education KULPS materials of EMMA, students learn about art and design through their own experiences and thoughts. Important themes include using art to influence something, expression, emotions, well-being, and responsibility and sustainability.
The entity consists of three parts: a video to be watched in advance, an independent museum visit, and exercises.
Duration: 60–90 min.

Location: the recording and exercises are not tied to any location. The museum visit takes place in EMMA, Ahertajantie 5, 02070 Espoo.

Dance Theatre Glims & Gloms: Tanssi ammattina (‘Dance as a profession’) recording
Welcome to a tour of what happens behind the scenes at the Dance Theatre Glims & Gloms. Your guide is dancer Kasperi Kolehmainen, who completed his civil service at Glims & Gloms. He will tell you about the coming performances, such as the Bach project. You will get to follow training sessions and see glimpses of the Glims & Gloms programme. You will also get to learn about the building blocks and methods of choreography.

Espoo City Theatre: The Teatteri taidemuotona (‘Theatre as an art form’) recording
The Espoo City Theatre recording dives into theatre as an art form and finds answers to what theatre is and what happens within theatre. We go over the different forms of performance art, such as drama, circus and dance. We examine the role that audience and viewers have in a performance: what participating in the performances feels like, what kinds of thoughts and emotions theatre can awaken. The study material supports independent contemplation.

What themes can be found in Akseli Gallen-Kallela's art? What do you feel when you arrive at Tarvaspää, home to the Gallen-Kallela Museum? Why is the local nature important to the museum? In the video, we talk about the artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela, his art, and the Tarvaspää studio in Espoo, where the Gallen-Kallela Museum is located. The video also includes art and archival images from the collections of the Gallen-Kallela Museum and other contributors.
