Equality and non-discrimination TASSU prize
Launched by the Espoo Equality Committee, the TASSU prize highlights activities carried out by the City of Espoo and other operators in Espoo to promote equality and non-discrimination in our society. The prize is awarded every year, and its format and emphasis have been developed by various committees over the years to meet current needs.
What is TASSU prize?
The purpose of the TASSU prize is to highlight tangible actions that promote equality and non-discrimination. The prize is handed out annually. The winner will receive €1,000 for the advancement of equality and non-discrimination.
Residents and employees of the City of Espoo can nominate actions that advance equality and non-discrimination in our city, thereby highlighting them and inspiring others to do their part.
Residents and city employees can also share their insights and events in which their perspectives on the world and others have changed (values, attitudes, opinions).
Espoo rewards activities that promote equality and non-discrimination – TASSU prize 2025
The 2025 TASSU competition focuses on activities that promote the employment of minority groups, such as people with an immigrant background, people with disabilities, and others who have difficulty in entering the labour market. We are also looking for preventive activities that combat social exclusion before people reach the actual working age, for example through youth work. Our aim is to highlight everyday heroes who help create a more equal Espoo by removing barriers to employment, people who act as bridge builders between opportunities and inclusion.
Submit your proposal between 1 October and 2 November 2025
“Tell us about a person or a team who has actively and effectively promoted equality and worked to support the employment of persons belonging to minorities.”
The competition has two categories. In addition to those working for the city, the users of services in Espoo can nominate persons or teams who represent the City of Espoo’s outsourced services or other third-sector operators based in Espoo, such as sports clubs or other organisations, and promote equality and non-discrimination. You can submit your proposal in Finnish, Swedish or English.
The prize recipients will be announced on Human Rights Day, 10 December 2025, and the prizes will be presented at Gumböle Manor at a later date.
