Alberga day care centre and preschool is a new Swedish-speaking unit with facilities that meet the goals of early childhood education today. We operate in the learning center Monikko, alongside a Swedish-speaking school, a Finnish-speaking school, and a Finnish-speaking day care centre.

We work particularly towards social and cultural sustainability but sustainability in general. The unit has 6 daycare groups and 1-2 preschool groups, with approximately 110-120 children.

Ajurinmäki day care centre

The Ajurinmäki day care centre (Ajurinmäen päiväkoti) is located in Northern Leppävaara and has good transport connections. We spend a lot of time in the surrounding nature and forests.

We provide children with experiences of success, insight and learning that support inclusion and the development of good self-esteem. Come and see our daily life full of high-quality, diverse and joyful early childhood education and our inclusive learning environment.

There are about 70 children in our day care centre.

The Kaitaannitty day care centre (Kaitaanniityn päiväkoti) is located in Southern Espoo in the peaceful Kaitaa residential area that is within walking distance of both forests and the sea.

Thanks to our location, outings in the surrounding area and versatile environmental education are naturally part of our approach. Here, children learn to take care of their environment and make sustainable choices for the future. In our day-care centre, we also promote physical education and offer children a wide range of opportunities for being physically active and playing.

Karamäki day care centre

The Karamäki day care centre (Karamäen päiväkoti) is located in Karakallio in Greater Leppävaara with good transport connections. Our day care centre operates in a new building that has facilities such as a spacious gym and a wrestling room for small children. We regularly go out in the surrounding environment that is full of forests, rocks and urban street art.

Our day care centre takes diversity into account: our clients and employees come from wide variety of different backgrounds. We help children speaking foreign languages strengthen their command of Finnish. Together with the children, we carry out various projects that help us get to know and learn new things.

There are about 150 children in our day-care centre.

Kivimies day care centre

The Kivimies day care centre (Kivimiehen päiväkoti) is located in central Otaniemi with good transport connections and close to the local metro station. The day care centre's diverse indoor and outdoor facilities enable the utilisation of different learning environments. A large, fenced yard area provides an inspiring setting for play, exploration and physical activity. Our indoor facilities include spaces for exercise, arts and wrestling for small children.

Our neighbourhood houses Aalto University and the big international companies of the nearby Keilaniemi area, which is why internationality is highlighted in our day care centre; several different languages and cultures are represented here.

In addition to Finnish-language early childhood education, we also offer bilingual early childhood education in Finnish and English. We consider enhancing children’s interaction and expression skills and cultural competence important.

The total number of children in the Kivimies day care centre is approximately 100.

The Lippajärvi day care centre (Lippajärven päiväkoti) is located in Central Espoo with excellent transport connections. We operate in three different buildings in the middle of beautiful local nature. Our location provides great opportunities for versatile outdoor activities such as hiking. In addition, our operations emphasise encouraging children’s physical activity, play and participation.

We work with children on various projects, and the children can participate in, for example, the planning of parties and excursions. Our work to develop our pedagogy has been successful and we are happy to tell you more about it.

The Matinraitti day care centre (Matinraitin päiväkoti) is located in Matinkylä, next to the sports park and good transport connections and the metro.

Our day care centre operates in a large, gorgeous new building that boasts modern learning environments and a spacious yard. Our other facilities include a sensory room.

We are close to both forests and the sea and we often make excursions to the seashore. Children’s participation and the significance of play are emphasised in our operations. We also have a special group and bilingual education in Finnish and English.

The Monikko day care centre (Monikon päiväkoti) operates on modern premises located close to good transport connections in Leppävaara. We also have a Swedish-language day care centre and a Finnish- and Swedish-language comprehensive school under the same roof.

We are located close to nature and forests which we actively explore. We focus on children’s individual strengths and supporting their interpersonal skills. We want to ensure that everyone feels like an important part of the community. We also provide 24-hour early childhood education i.e. round-the-clock care.

Perkkaa residents’ park

The Perkkaa residents’ park (Perkkaan asukaspuisto) is an open and free meeting place for schoolchildren, small children and the parents who look after them at home. It is one of the 16 residents’ parks in Espoo.

In the residents’ park, families can meet each other and share aspects of their daily lives between parents and the personnel.

Our fenced yard area is perfect for the children to play in and the park area has different outdoor toys and play equipment that are freely available. Small schoolchildren are welcome to spend time in the park in the mornings before school or after school. More information about the residents’ park operations in Espoo is available here.

We are located a short walk from the Leppävaara station, in the middle of Perkkaa. We are happy to show our operations to visitors. Tours of our park are held on Tuesdays at 13.00–14.30 or on Fridays at 9.30–11.00.

Storängen's daycare-centre and preschool is a Swedish-language daycare-centre located in the same building as Storängens skola (Storängens School). The educational path continues from 0 to 12 years within the same building.

We have a high-quality pedagogical approach where children's initiatives and ideas are considered and incorporated into the planning of our activities. This academic year, our goal has been to enhance the use of digital tools, and we have made significant progress in media education.

The surroundings of Storängen's daycare and preschool offer us numerous opportunities, and we have various learning environments at our disposal. Thanks to our environment, we can provide children with different forms of physical activity, both indoors and outdoors.

Our facilities and the surrounding environment support various types of physical activity. We make use of the local sports field, forest and playgrounds. We believe that play and physical activity are important for a child’s development. We help children find their strengths and encourage them to express themselves.

Vindängen's day-care centre and preschool has four groups in early childhood education and preschool. The day-care centre is a Swedish-language day-care centre. The total number of children is 105. In our activities, we also focus on creating a language-stimulating environment where children are actively involved and have the opportunity to influence their own day. We provide intentional social training where we place great importance on the interaction between children and adults.

The Vermo day care centre (Vermon päiväkoti) is located in a peaceful low-rise residential area close to the Mäkkylä railway station and along good transport connections.

Our day care centre is in a bright new building with excellent learning and play environments. In addition to group areas, we have several rooms for smaller groups, a workshop and a gymnasium.

It is important for us to promote children’s inclusion. At our day care centre, children are heard and they get to be active participants. Supported play and positive pedagogy are also key elements in our activities. We have six groups and about 110 children.
