IB Graduation Ceremony celebrated with dignity and style!
The thirteen IB graduation ceremony - with the greatest number of graduates to date – was celebrated with proud families, teachers and DP students Sellosali on the last Friday in August.
This was an excellent venue with exactly the right ambience for an event marked by glorious musical presentations, fine speeches and the crowning moment when fresh graduates donned their white caps to the inexhaustible applause of an admiring audience. Farha, our graduate speaker was moved to tears as she thanked her parents for the sacrifices they made to give her an education - an education which is denied to so many Afghan girls and women who are forced to hold babies rather than books in their hands.
The alumnus speaker Rolle Rantaniemi delivered an entertaining speech with some sage advice about the value of curiosity outside one´s own academic field. He stressed breadth over depth and gave a simple example. Having learnt to speak fluent Greek which one might think has little value outside of Greece, he mentioned that every interviewer has immediately picked up on this unusual skill. Everything we learn can be useful in some way.
The occasion was marked with fragrant roses, tears of joy, warm hugs and plenty of laughter. The Etis graduation ceremony of 2025 was a precious treat and a fitting close to almost fifty Etis careers. Our warm congratulations once more!
