Etis IB Graduation ceremony 2023

On 1st September in the magnificent surroundings of Dipoli, the main auditorium of Aalto University, 29 graduates donned their white hats to thunderous applause from assembled family and friends. This part of the event never fails to bring a lump to ones´s throat, as we simultaneously mark this tremendous achievement on getting a diploma and make our fond farewells to students who have shared our lives for three years. There was much to celebrate! The Award for Academic Excellence went to Joni Ranta, who also scooped up the Teknologiateollisuus Award for scoring a top grade in HL Mathematical Analysis and Approaches. The Learner Profile award went to Neethila Nusrat, who demonstrated her excellent communication skills when delivering a lively graduate speech. Former President of the Student Council and graduate from four years ago, Edvin Ingman, delivered the keynote speech, in which the message focused on learning to say “yes” and embrace opportunities, which can arise in unexpected ways. We were pleased to have the Director of Upper Secondary Education for Espoo, Tapio Erma, in the audience, attuned to the needs of IB in the municipality. From the smiling tutors who welcomed people to the venue to the hosts Venla Laine and Filipp Girisham;  from the programme artist, Sai Niemi, to the school musicians Sofia Tudose, Eveliina Räsänen and Mariia Chernova, all credit goes to students who helped make this such a memorable and dignified occasion.
