Etis Pre-DP Forest Trip

All Pre-DP (future IB Diploma) students joined their homeroom teachers, tutors, and the DP coordinator on a gloriously warm day in the forests of North Espoo during the second week of school to get to know one another better and forge a strong group spirit.

Tutor students did a fine job of organizing the day´s games, starting with students getting to know each other´s names whilst sat in a circle and tossing a ball from one to another. There were also energetic games running the length of the sports field, and cunning ones (such as blink murder). The real highpoint was, perhaps, a refreshing dip in a lake after a two kilometre trek through the undulating forest. Or perhaps it was the sausage, bread and fizzy drinks in relaxed company when we got back to our base in Pirttimäki.

Getting out, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine and making new friends instead of just another day in the classroom was a real tonic for everyone, teachers and students. We are indebted to teachers for organizing the event, to Zakia for providing the packed lunches, to the tutors for the lively and fun programme, and all participants for turning up and cheerfully joining in.
