Career Club

Career Club is a 2-month career development programme for highly educated professionals living in Espoo. The programme focuses on gaining relevant skills, knowledge and networks, and strongly supports the participants' agency and self-determination.

Service description

Career Club is a career development programme that consists of 10 group meetings once a week. At these meetings, participants and guests from different organizations practice skills and discuss together.

90% of previous participants feel that Career Club has helped them move forward with their career development and that the programme improved their knowledge about job-hunting, Finnish work culture, interview preparation, balance between family and work life. As of March 2023, over 200 people have participated in Career Club.

2 months to focus on yourself and your career.

Together, we will focus on defining and reaching concrete career related goals and results. We will support you in moving forward and taking action for yourself.

You will first learn and practice fundamental career development skills, grow your networks and work on different topics such as working cultures in Finland and work life balance. You can read more about the program’s content here .

We have designed our programme for professionals who are looking for methods, tools and frameworks to take action for themselves.

Career Club is free of charge and our activities are in English.

In the programme you will:

Take two months to focus on yourself, for yourself, and take your career development in your own hands.
Explore different topics, practice tools and methods for self-reflection, goals-setting, and most importantly for setting things in motion and getting into action!
Receive many opportunities to build and deepen your networks, get new ideas, and find relevant information and services to support you and your career development.
Career Club is designed to make you think, develop and try new ideas. You will be intellectually stimulated during the sessions, and get assignments throughout the programme.

Career Club has changed the way most of our participants approach career development: 90% of our participants feel like Career club has helped them move forward with their career development.

We welcome guests, from public, private and third sectors to participate in our sessions. Guests have shared their knowledge, but have also interacted with our participants and enjoyed connecting with highly educated, focused and goal-oriented professionals.

How do I join Career Club?

You need to apply and go through a selection process to join a Career Club group.

To participate, you must fulfil the basic requirements:

Be highly educated (at least 3 years in the higher education system)
Live in Espoo
Have a sufficient level of English to take part in our discussions and read our material

We will select the participants based on the order of application and the content of your application form (requirements, your goals and motivation).

Our programme rounds have limited seats. For example, in the September-October 2022 round only 50% of the applicants got a spot. Make sure to fill your application form properly, and to share with us what you want to get out of the programme!

The application period lasts around three weeks after which we will contact candidates for a short phone interview. Decisions are sent one month before the programme starts.

Nationality, unemployment status, gender, age or area of expertise are not criteria to get in. All highly educated people living in Espoo are welcome to apply.
