Five tips for reducing school lunch waste
1. Come and have lunch – it is served for you!
Our planners have carefully planned each item and menu to make sure the meals are balanced and nutritious. We carefully select the raw materials that support your wellbeing.
2. Take as much as you can eat
Sometimes your eyes are bigger than your stomach. Start with a smaller portion and get more if you are still hungry. This way you avoid throwing away food.
3. Try new foods
Give new flavours a chance, have a small bite at least. This way you can discover new favourite dishes! On Wednesday, there will be a great opportunity to do this as a new dish, Deli Oats stir-fry, developed by the pupils is served!
4. Have your say in school meals
Does your school already have school meal influencers? The school meal influencer activities were previously known as food panels and they allow you to help develop school meals. Good taste – less waste!
5. Give feedback
Let us know how you liked the food and what dishes you would like to add to the menu. All feedback is valuable to us, it provides important information for the development of the items and menu. Take part in the favourite food survey for a chance to see your favourite dishes on the menu next semester!
