Welcome to the Espoo AI in Mobility Challenge!

Is your company ready to develop innovative AI solutions to promote sustainable mobility and reduce traffic emissions? Espoo Mobility Lab, Innovation Challenge Engine for Cities, Finnish AI Region FAIR EDIH, and Nokia Espoo Innovation Garage invite startups and SMEs to participate in the AI in Mobility Challenge.

Objective: We are looking for solutions that utilize AI and data to reduce traffic emissions and help Espoo achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.

Why participate?

  • Receive expert support and mentoring from FAIR EDIH and Nokia.
  • Proof-of-Concept (POC) will be created for suitable concepts.
  • Opportunity to develop and pilot your solution in a real city environment.
  • The best solution will be awarded a €10,000 cash prize for the pilot phase.
  • Visibility and collaboration opportunities with industry leaders.

Phases of the Challenge:

  • Idea phase: Register with a solution, prototype, or concept (application period 1–21 April 2025).
  • Development phase: Mentoring day on 9 May 2025 at Nokia Espoo Innovation Garage. Solution development in May-June.
  • Demo phase: Participants will present their work at the Demo Day on 17 June 2025 at Nokia Espoo Innovation Garage.
  • The winner of the €10,000 development grant will be announced on 18 June 2025.
  • The best solutions will be piloted in Espoo in autumn 2025.
