The upper secondary school Matinkylän lukio provides its close to 500 students with transversal general knowledge education leading to the Finnish matriculation diploma. Our school is arts-oriented and a member of UNESCO Associated Schools, thus offering a wide range of art courses and a mission to raise awareness about sustainable development and global issues. Our students are 16-18 years old. We want to encourage our students, coming from a multitude of backgrounds, to grow both academically and as global citizens.

Matinkylän lukio (previously Kaitaan lukio) will move to a new school building which is currently under construction. In the coming years our school will raise its student intake up to 800-900.

The route to the main entrance

Saattoliikenteen pysähtymispaikka on lukiorakennuksen oikealla sivulla, koripallokentän edessä olevalla alueella.
The 3 accessible parking spaces are located outdoors under 10 m from the entrance. The width of the parking spaces is at least 3.6 m.
The route to the entrance is smooth and sufficiently wide and illuminated.

The main entrance

The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly and the glass doors have contrast markings. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door requires the use of a door phone, opening easily manually.

In the facility

The customer service point has 5 floors.
For moving around, there is a lift, which can hold a wheelchair; the door opens with an access control key. The floor numbers in the lift can be felt with fingers. The button for the exit floor stands out from the other buttons. (The minimum dimensions for an accessible lift are width 1.1 m and depth 1.4 m.)
The facility has a wheelchair lift.
The doors in the facility stand out clearly.
The facility has an accessible toilet on the entrance floor.
There is a second accessible toilet on floor 2.
There is a third accessible toilet on floor 5.
The service point has a fixed induction loop in the lecture room (with active T-sign), auditorium (with active T-sign), assembly hall (with active T-sign), gym (with active T-sign).
