Haukilahti general upper secondary school has ca. 350 students. We are involved in several international and national projects.

Haukilahti general upper secondary school has ca. 350 students. We are involved in several international and national projects. Our broad language selection, versatile course offerings in social and health studies, history, religion/ethics and science and mathematics studies combined with art and physical education create the students an excellent foundation for suceeding in the matriculation examination as well as in further studies.

Our school has a separate sports programme. The sports programme is meant for students who have set high goals for both developing their skills in their sports discipline and for succeeding in theri studies. The sports focus on golf, football, ice-hockey and gymnastics.

The route to the main entrance

The accessible parking space is located outdoors under 10 m from the entrance. The width of the parking space is less than 3.6 m.
The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement.
The route to the entrance is smooth and sufficiently wide and illuminated.

The main entrance

The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
The doors connected to the entrance are hard to perceive. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door opens easily manually.

In the facility

The customer service point has three floors.
For moving around, there is a lift, which can hold a wheelchair; the door opens easily manually. The floor numbers in the lift can be felt with fingers. The button for the exit floor stands out from the other buttons. (The minimum dimensions for an accessible lift are width 1.1 m and depth 1.4 m.)
The facility has thresholds over 2 cm high.
The doors in the facility are hard to perceive.
The facility has an accessible toilet on the entrance floor.
There is a second accessible toilet on floor 2.
