Matinkylä winter swimming spot
The Matinkylä winter swimming spot is located at the Matinkylä beach by the Waterfront Walkway.
The area has excellent transport connections. On the jetty, there is a wind shelter with a heated floor panel and heated steps leading into the water. A pump keeps the water circulating and the hole in the ice open.
There are heated changing rooms for men and women. Both changing rooms have their own entrance.
Starting from 1 September 2026, a winter swimming wristband will be introduced at the winter swimming sites maintained by the City of Espoo. The winter swimming wristband provides access to the heated changing facilities maintained by the city at the winter swimming sites located on Espoo's seaside beaches. There are no showers. There is a 12-person private container sauna available for a fee. You can book a time slot on the Löylykontti website.
Winter swimmers can use the parking areas next to the Matinkylä beach.
Winter swimming season starts 1 September and ends 31 May.
