Import and export of animals

When travelling with a pet, the owner is responsible for ensuring that their pet meets the requirements of the destination country. Your pet may need specific vaccinations, medications, tests and documentation.

The Finnish Food Authority’s website provides information on travelling with animals, including import and export details. You can also contact the embassy of the destination country to enquire about export requirements. If your pet requires an export certificate issued by an official veterinarian, contact the City of Espoo veterinarians. Make sure to schedule an export inspection by phone at least three working days before departure. Contact details for the City of Espoo veterinarians
