For schools and day care groups

KAMU WeeGee provides educational services to learners of all ages.

Welcome to the museum with your group!

A visit to the museum supports school instruction and can be combined with many different school subjects. Museum visits are always free of charge for groups from day care, preschool and school groups, and they count as KULPS-visits. Teachers can see KAMU’s exhibitions for free in order to prepare for their class group’s visit by showing their OAJ (the Trade Union of Education) membership card at Exhibition Centre WeeGee’s ticket counter.

Advance reservations are required for group visits to the museum. It is advisable to prepare for the visit in advance by talking to the group about the exhibition – why you are going to the museum and what you will see there. Pupils are their teacher’s responsibility throughout the entire museum visit!

History online for schools

Explore remote learning activities on the architecture of Tapiola, or join an inspiring excursion that immerses participants in the architectural world of Kaija and Heikki Siren.

Are you looking for engaging materials for group work in the classroom? Or wondering how to teach information literacy and online source searching in a safe and effective way? Finna Classroom brings together learning materials tailored to the curricula of comprehensive schools and upper secondary schools. These resources can be used in subjects such as history, social studies, mother tongue and literature, and visual arts.

The service also offers a variety of printable assignments and supplementary materials for teachers, making it easy and convenient to explore and make use of our online content.

Borrow teaching packages

What were ancient fishing nets made of? What games were played during the Middle Ages? Where did people get their food in earlier times? Answers to these and many other questions can be found in the museum’s educational packages covering different historical periods.

In addition to objects that can be touched and tried out, the kits include information about each period and offer ideas and models for hands-on learning. The educational kits are designed to support comprehensive school teaching, but they can also be used in other educational settings. The written materials in the packages are currently only available in Finnish, but the packages can also be used without the written materials.

The loan period is 1–3 weeks, as agreed. Borrowing is free of charge for schools and daycare centres in Espoo. For other institutions, the loan fee is €70 per loan period.

The packages can be collected from KAMU at Exhibition Centre WeeGee (Tapiola) during the museum’s opening hours.
