Local detailed plansTapiolaThe intended use detailed in the local detailed plan will be expanded in order to allow the continued operation of the water sports centre Laguuni permanently. At the same time, possibilities for sea-filling on the shore will be surveyed. The natural values of the area will be preserved. The amendment is based on the planning reservation approved by the Business and Competitiveness Subcommittee of the City Board. It is estimated that the plan’s participation and assessment scheme and preparation materials will be available for public review in the spring of 2026.

Summary
The water sports centre Laguuni is currently operating under a fixed-term building permit. Currently, the intended use listed in the local detailed plan is a water area. The amendment to the local detailed plan will also allow exercise, sports and recreational services in the area. Laguuni intends to expand its operations.
The Business and Competitiveness Subcommittee of the City Board approved a planning reservation for the water sports centre Laguuni on 9 September 2024 and it was extended on 15 September 2025.
Small-scale sea-filling possibilities are being surveyed on the shore in accordance with the master plan. The functionality of pedestrian and cyclist routes as well as parking will be improved.
