Summary

The population of Kera and Kilo is growing, and the city is preparing to offer more school and day-care centre places. The Karamalmens skola school and day-care centre block located on Karaniityntie will be expanded so that a new primary school can be built there.

The Swedish-speaking school and day-care centre will remain in operation. In addition, the possibility of constructing a new building for the Swedish-speaking day-care centre will be investigated.

The southern part of the planning area, an unbuilt construction site, will be converted into a park. The plans also include a neighbourhood sports park for both pupils and residents of the area. Attention will be paid to the planning of safe school routes and high-quality outdoor recreation routes. Parking and pick-up and drop-off traffic will be made functional and safe.
